Introducing my Empties series! Basically, I collect a bunch of the empty products I've used up and put a mini review about some of the products.

If I don't have a mini review on some of the products, it's because I have already or will eventually be posting a more in-depth/detailed review on the product, so stay tuned!

Here are my Empties #1:

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner:

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner
I bought this toner on Amazon for 12 dollars. I've used up 2-3 bottles.  This toner comes with a pump and feels nice on the skin. It also remove impurities if I happened to miss any after cleansing. Other than those two benefits, I didn't notice any drastic changes or improvements on my skin, so I won't be repurchasing this.

L'oreal Youth Code Texture Perfector Serum:

L'oreal Youth Code Serum
I know I purchased this a few times, but at different places.  They retail for about $20.00. I bought this while it was on sale or I had a coupon for Ulta, I can't exactly how much I got this for. It's great because it has a pump, but you can't actually open the bottle up. I found that a bit annoying because as you can see, there is still product left over that I would've like to use. This smells really  nice and applies very silky smooth over the skin. I did notice that using this helped with my skin texture. I haven't repurchased this in a very long time and probably won't anymore because I'm relatively happy with my current skin care routine.

Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream:

Mizon All in One Snail Cream
I've repurchased this a few times, I typically pay around 18 dollars on ebay for the bigger 120mL size compared to the normal 75mL size. I really like this as my night time moisturizer for the non-winter months. During winter, I felt like it wasn't enough for my skin. Other than that, it hydrated my skin and helped with smoothing out my skin/helping with texture. I'll eventually repurchase this, I'm just trying out other moisturizers at the moment.

Mizon All in One Snail Ampoule:

Mizon All in One Snail Ampoule
I got this for $12 on ebay. This ampoule was a nice consistency and spread nicely over my face. There's really not much of a scent to this. It was a good moisturizing component to my skin care, but other than that I really didn’t see any difference with this ampoule. I won't be repurchasing.

Mizon Night Time Repair Ampoule:

Mizon Night Time Repair Ampoule
I got this for around $13 on ebay. Essentially I felt the same way about this ampoule as I did with the Mizon All in One Sail Ampoule.  Good for moisturizing, but didn't see much results. Won't be repurchasing

Nature Republic Cotton Arm Pit Kit:

Nature Republic Cotton Arm Pit Kit
I purchased this kit on Amazon for around $14 dollars. This kit is a simple two step system, which includes using a  scrub and that you wash out, followed by a cream. The scrub has microbeads that help exfoliate your underarms and the cream is moisturizing, but not too thick where it feels sticky or heavy. Both products are white and smell of a clean linen scent that wasn't too overpowering. Unfortunately, I didn't see too much lightening of my underarms. It did smooth out and soften my underarms slightly, but it wasn't the results I was hoping for, especially considering the price. I will not repurchase this product.

Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray:

Tresemme Thermal Creations
I always use this when I apply heat to my hair. This is probably my third or fourth bottle that I've repurchased and I typically pay between $5-6 for it. The nozzle sprays the product evenly, it smells nice, and it never weighs my hair down or makes it greasy. This is a must in my opinion and I will always repurchase.

Directions:

  2. Unfold the mask inside.

  5. Take off mask, tap the essence of the mask into your skin to absorb. Do not rinse.

Review:

I absolutely adore the packaging because it is HOLO! (I'm obsessed with holographic things now because of Simply Nailogical, look that up and you'll understand…XD). I got a set of 10 masks for $20.00 on Ebay. Considering that these masks are only $2 a piece, its really fancy and has nice packaging! :D

Freeset Donkey Milk Healing Front

Freeset Donkey Milk Healing Back

There is a plastic backing to the mask, so you need to remove that before you put it on your face. This sheet mask is different from the other sheet masks I normally use because of the material. The normal sheet masks I use are made up of cotton, but this mask is a gel mask made up of natural pulp coated with a bio-polymer. Now, I'm not exactly sure what the heck that means, but because the mask is made up of different material, the way it fits on the face is different. These gel masks fit very well on my face and stays very close to the face for the entire time while using the mask. I feel like this really helps your skin drink and absorb all of the essence. It also feels softer and is more light weight on your face than the cotton sheetmask.

Sheetmask fully layed out.

The mask holds the essence very well and is super cooling when you place it on your face. As for the scent, it is described as "fresh". I would describe the scent as a mixture between minty herbal medicine and lemon cleaner. The scent also reminded me of something that I couldn’t quit put my finger on until after the third or fourth time using this mask. It smells exactly like those moist towelettes  that restaurants give you to clean your hands when you eat seafood or BBQ…HAHA >_< Now that's not exactly the kind of smell I want my sheet masks to have, but I can overlook it because the mask felt nice and I noticed benefits after using them.

I mentioned my string of breakouts lately on my cheek, so the parts of my face with my breakouts obviously left that area of my skin red and irritated. After using the mask, I noticed that my face felt calmed, soothed, and the area of breakouts were less red. The essence also really moisturized my skin, but it did leave it sticky.

I recommend this, especially if you're prone to redness. I will re-purchase this face mask sometime in the future. I really saw the benefits on my skin and the overall experience was very nice, so it outweighed the cons like being sticky and having a weird smell.

Overall:

Pros:
Cons:
*packaging is awesome!
*material helped adhere to the face and skin better
*cooling and fresh on skin
*calmed, soothed, and decreased redness
*moisturized skin
*thin, soft, and light weight
*sticky feeling after use
*smells like the lemon moist towelettes

Tony Moly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel

What is it for?

Deep cleansing gel containing flower extracts to help promote radiant skin. Removes dead skin cells and impurities for a softer skin.

Active Ingredients:

I tried looking everywhere for the listed active ingredients, but all it states is that they use "flower extracts". Looking at the full ingredient list the extracts  are nelumbo nucifera flower extract and prunus mume fruit extract. Now because this is a chemical exfoliant, this product utilizes acids, specifically AHAs. The AHAs in the ingredient list are ascorbic acid, lactic acid, and citric acid.

To look at the full list of ingredients, its function for each, and its safety/irritant levels go ahead and click on this website: http://www.cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_b6bd161335.html

Directions:
  1. Make sure that hands and face are dry.
  2. Squeeze small amount onto hands.
  3. Gently massage into face.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Review:

This cost about $10-11 dollars  on Amazon for 150 mL of product in a white squeeze tube. The packaging is sleek and clean with a lotus flower on the front.

Tony Moly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel

The product has a gel like consistency, but it is more on the watery side. This gel has a nice floral scent, which I enjoyed a lot. While rubbing the gel into the skin, the gel will start to ball up underneath your fingers.  Those particles are your actual skin sloughing off! Sounds a bit gross right? But it's actually satisfying to see all that dead skin coming off the front surface of your face.

Product on hand.

After rubbing the product into skin, dead skin cells starts to come off.

Immediately after washing everything off my face, I noticed that my skin was brighter and felt smoother. Typically, my skin always feels smoother when I use a physical exfoliator, but this peeling gel is more gentle on the skin and I found that it was just as effective.  I've used this product only once or twice a week for a few months and can tell that it's definitely made the texture of my skin better. Overall, I really enjoy this product and would definitely recommend! I will repurchase this in the future, but this has gotten me really interested in trying more peeling gels, so I'll probably shop around and try a few different kinds in the mean time!

Overall:

Pros:
Cons:
*gentler than physical exfoliator
*effective in removing dead skin
*nice scent
*smoother and brighter complexion after use
*none that I can think of!

Banilla Co. Clean It Zero

What is it for?

To clean and remove makeup, dirt, and impurities.

Active Ingredients:

Papaya, acerola, and herbal extracts

To look at the full list of ingredients, its function for each, and its safety/irritant levels go ahead and click on this website: http://cosdna.com/eng/cosmetic_1792176836.html

Directions:

  1. Use spactula and scoop up pea size amount.
  2. Massage balm all over skin.
  3. Rinse with luke warm water and pat dry.
  4. Follow up with water based cleanser.

Review:

There are a few different types of the Banilla Co Clean it Zero, but I'm reviewing the original. The original has a pink cap and comes in a tub of 100mL. Because of the packaging, it might not feel like it's sanitary, but it does comes with its own spatula to scoop out the product.

Banilla Co. Clean it Zero
There is a floral fragrance, but it isn't overbearing or overpowering. It smells quite pleasant. The product is a white solid balm that melts into a softer consistency when you massage it into your skin and the makeup on your face starts to dissolve away.  I love that I don't have to be too rough or scrub my skin too hard in order to take off my makeup. It pretty much removes all my makeup with ease. However, I notice that I do have to work a little harder and spend more time when removing my eye or waterproof makeup, but again I don't ever feel like I'm being extremely rough on my skin. However, a word of caution be careful when using this over your eyes, if a lot of the product gets in your eye, it could cause your vision to be blurry or get mildly irritated.
Spatula is included
When you begin to wash off the balm it transforms into a milky and watery consistency. It rinses right off without any problems and after towel drying, my skin feels fresh, clean, and smooth. This also doesn't dry my face out. I have read some complaints about there being a sticky residue when using this product by itself. However, this isn't meant to be used as a stand alone product. I never use this a stand alone product, and I ALWAYS follow this with a water based cleanser.
Scoop of product
Makeup swatches on hand from top to bottom: BB cream, eyeliner, matte liquid lipstick, lipgloss, lipstick, and concealer
Rubbing the product into the hand. It all came off relatively easy.

Hand after rinsing off everything with water
I really love using this product in my double cleanse system. I feel like it's gentle on the skin and removes most, if not all of my make up before my cleansing step. This will definitely be a hard product to beat, but I'm going to test out a few other cleansing balms/oils and compare how they hold up to the Banilla Co. But I definitely recommend this, if you haven't tried it you should!

Overall:

Pros:
Cons:
*gentle on the skin
*very effective at removing makeup
*doesn't dry out skin
*can be unsanitary because of packaging
*can cause temporary blurred vision/irritation if a lot of product gets into eyes

Aritaum Mono Eyes

Today, I'll be talking about four eye shadows I've recently picked up from Aritaum! It's from their Mono Eyes collection, which are individual eyeshadows. Each eye shadow typically cost between $5-6 and come in a wide variety of shades, finishes, colors, and textures! (I bought these up on ebay.)

I picked up the following shades:

No. 37 Cocktail Dress
No. 95 Stand By Me
No. 102 New Blossom
No. 113 Candy Drops

Top from left to right: No. 113 (Candy Drops), No. 102 (New Blossom)
Bottom from left to right: No. 95 (Stand By Me), No. 37 (Cocktail Dress)
There were a bunch of other shades that I wanted to pick up, but I decided to be good and only pick up these colors. I have way too much makeup, but I've always wanted to try this brand out. I picked up mostly pinky/burgundy colors because I don't have a ton of these colors in my mostly neutral eyeshadow collection.

Swatches from left to right: No. 37 (Cocktail Dress), No. 95 (Stand By Me), No. 102 (New Blossom), No. 113 (Candy Drops)

For some reason, the No. 95 (Stand by me) shadow is showing up a lot more red in the photo, but in real life it has a more of a pinkish hue to it. They all swatch well and are pretty pigmented. The glitter/shimmery shadows do need to be built up a bit, but they have such a pretty effect when it shifts in light at different angles. I find that using a patting motion with the glitter/shimmer shadows is the best way to apply them.

One thing to quickly note, you have to be careful with these eyeshadows because I lightly dropped No. 113 Candy drops and the eyeshadow completely shattered. I was able to kind of put it back together and use it, but I'm still kind of bummed about it. -__- (me and my butterfingers)

I will definitely buy more, but in the very distant future. I have way more eyeshadows than I know what to do with right now. But definitely pick up a few if you're interested!
